About the Preston Group
St Wilfrid’s Life Ascending Group was started by Fr Manus Keane SJ (now a fully retired member of St Wilfrid’s SJ Community) and Sr Teresa Dougan SCMM (now retired to Pantasaph in North Wales), some 13 years ago.
Our group meets most Thursday mornings in St Wilfrid’s Parish Centre at 11 am – we average about fifteen people each week. We always greet each other with a warm welcome, chat over coffee, then follow with a study and discussion of the coming Sunday’s Mass readings. We are guided by our Chaplain, Fr Leslie McKenna SJ.
We enjoy occasional excursions to Tabor and Ladywell. Several times a year we are privileged to have input from two sisters from Blackpool. The Parish Christmas Fayre provides an opportunity for us to support the Parish with our successful stall.
