The Ascension is one of the most important feast days of The Church. The very moment when Christ leaves His disciples and is taken up bodily into Heaven. God, made man, would be seen no more on this earth and His faithful disciples were left bewildered and wondering how they could possibly carry on without their beloved Saviour there, to guide and direct them. But as we know, Christ was not abandoning them but rather remaining with them in the powerful form of The Holy Spirit. This same Holy Spirit who has continued to be present for all people throughout the ages, who is with us now and will be until the end of time.
O Holy Spirit, I humbly impore You, be with me always so that in all things, I may act under the influence of Your holy inspiration.
